Soaking the Sponge:
As i have slowly plodded along with my development over the past couple of years i have been keeping an eye on a number of blogs related to entrepreneurship and technology. I have been silently reading and following a few people that inspire me, and really get me enthused about business and product development.
I have been soaking up information from entrepreneurs (Bob Warfield – SmoothSpan Blog), Bloggers (Neil Patel – QuickSprout), and more recently Product Managers (Steven Sinofsky – Learningbyshipping) and whilst these people are on a completely different playing field to where i am currently at, i feel the knowledge and experiences they share in their blogs is hugely beneficial. The detail of their blogs is exceptional and this has all been freely provided. There has simply been too much information to soak up, as i could easily spend all day every day learning more and more.
However, there comes a time when one needs to stop and start taking action. There is little point in continually learning more things if i am not going to apply that wisdom to anything. Do you not also wish to stimulate others to utilise and share their abilities?
That brings you to where i am at now. It is time for me to start applying what i have learned and see if i can take the code i am writing to a sellable product, and grow my job into a business.

I have just taken my first steps, which included setting up this blog, linking the blog to my Twitter (@AntDowling) and LinkedIn Profiles. At this stage i haven’t officially done anything with a FaceBook connection as i find Facebook frustrating with the amount of advertising in the update feeds. Its almost to the point where i dread checking out facebook due to the amount of advertising on it, so i question the viability of facebook fan sites and related content. I guess only time will tell, like most things i haven’t completely written off the idea, just not currently feeling it would be worth it.
With a bit of luck and application I hope you will see an improvement in my dot connections as I learn the ins and outs of social media and the journey of growing my business continues to move forward.
