Code Signing Certificate Application Accepted

Finally, after a few days of going back and forward verifying my identity, GoDaddy has accepted my Code Signing Certificate application. Now UAC displays ‘Verified Publisher’ when attempting to run the installer, or application.

Code Signing Application Difficulties:

Unfortunately the verification process was not smooth sailing, as I ran into a small issue with validating my company phone number. The problem being my telephone bill does not have my company name (Sjones Limited) on it, and no other utility bill or bank statement addressed to my company included the telephone number. To get around this issue a letter of attestation from my lawyer had to be supplied that validated all the information within a single document.

The process of going back and forward between GoDaddy and myself, then myself and my lawyer extended the process for a few days longer than I had originally hoped (Note to self, don’t attempt to do these types of things while people are still away on holiday), however it is all sorted now and I have updated the installer and application executable to include the Code Signing certificate.
